In the morning, I sat down for my first Italian class. For the next 3 weeks I'll be attending a university with students outside of Abbey Road to expand my knowledge and understanding of the Italian language. The first day, while intimidating, was rather exciting! I am the youngest in my class mostly consisting of college students and a few adults. Italian is structured very similar to class back home but with one difference....speaking in English is the largest impracticality for learning; the teachers and a few students know very few words. Italian is our only possible form of communication.
Along the streets and in the "Piazzas" Italians converse in their own personal dielect. While frustrating for tourists, their language is culture...a part of who they are. But if you look pass the stain glass window of the large building behind Piazza della Repubblica, you can see the Italian language broken down for 6 very eager students.
